Background
Bruntwood is a property company specialising in office space, lab space, meeting rooms, etc. After a slight delay on their websites MVP, they required urgent UI / UX expertise to help move the project forward and meet the business goals. The brief I received from Bruntwood was to produce UI Designs relating to their MVP, these being Search On Homepage, Map / List view and selected space pages. As well as imprinting a consistent process for their design projects moving forward.
Involvement
Throughout this project I worked as part of a team made up of a head of UI / UX, a product owner, a business analyst and numerous developers. At the start of the project we reviewed the user stories and came up with a roadmap that would allow us to focus solely on the required MVP pages.
Working closely with the team, we worked in a two week sprint cycle to come up with a page by page solution over an four month period. This involved discussions around how we could implement key pieces of user feedback on the listed MVPs, looking into different ways that we could enhance the design and developmental side of things and listing out any nice to haves for the project, if time permitted.
Once we mapped out the relevant content, I would then create a wireframe for each page. Upon sign off, I would then create a mock-up and then showcase it in a demo call with the relevant team members. This allowed us to gauge feedback from the wider team and once the selected page was approved, it would then move into the development stage.
With regards to the visual side of the project, I worked closely with the Head of UI / UX at Bruntwood to make sure the UI Design matched the existing website guidelines, as well as trying to implement new features that would expand the website in the future.
Throughout the project, I created multiple mock-ups and utilised a Design System in Figma that was based on a Design Library that I created for the development team. This highlighted the typography in use, the chosen colour palette, the need for consistent iconography selections, form field element styling and other areas.
