HELP 4 HOT TUBS

Deliverable: Squarespace Website Build

Role: Freelance Digital Designer

PROJECT INFO

BACKGROUND
Help 4 Hot Tubs is a hot tub repair company based in Hull, UK. They specialise in offering repairs, maintenance and servicing to hot tub owners, both in the residential and business sector.

The brief I received from Help 4 Hot Tubs was to produce a new Squarespace Website Build.
INVOLVEMENT
For the Squarespace Website Build, I worked closely with the client to understand their requirements for the project. Initially starting with a kick-off meeting to discuss the goals for the website, I then put this into practice by producing a sitemap and wireframes to map out the website.

After signing off on the approach from a user journey point of view, I then created a layout on Squarespace based on my wireframes. The homepage showcases the services offered and information about the company, with the supporting pages displaying customer reviews, contact details and social links.

With regards to the visual side of the project, I came up with a navy colour palette that was complimentary to the brand identities light blue. Using an uppercase font styling for any heading to bring prominence to each section, as well as utilising accordions for the services listed, photography of recent work they had completed and subtle transitions when navigating between pages and scrolling within.
Client testimonial
I met David a few years ago and I started talking to him about my business and the need to redesign my business website and having a stronger online presence. David offered his services and redesigned my whole website. He was very professional and definitely knows his stuff. He then upgraded my online presence and my ranking on Google went top 3-4 through Google Ads in the local area. The enquiries started to increase and work started to come in through this. Since then I have recommended him to friends and colleagues.

GREEN GINGER DIGITAL

Deliverable: Brand Identity, Photography

Role: Freelance Designer & Photographer

PROJECT INFO

BACKGROUND
Green Ginger Digital is a performance marketing agency. They specialise in digital strategy, SEO, paid social and more.

The brief I received from Green Ginger Digital was to produce a new Brand Identity and Photography of their team.
INVOLVEMENT
For the Brand Identity, I had an idea of how I was going to create it by utilising a piece of Hull's history. Many people that live in the area know of the narrow street called Land Of Green Ginger and one of the main attractions down this street is the world's smallest window.

With that in mind, I created a shape which mirrored the historic window. This was supported by a sans serif typeface using both regular and bold font weights. There was also a link to the agency name when picking the colour palette by utilising a green and orange.

For the Photography, I went for a style that captured the teams friendly nature and to show-off their personalities. I did this by taking natural shots of the team whilst they were in meetings and having a coffee break. As well as taking portrait shots outside their office space. These were used on their website, news articles and social media posts.

WHITETHORN ACCOUNTANTS

Deliverable: UI / Website Design, Brand Identity

Role: Freelance Digital Designer

PROJECT INFO

BACKGROUND
Whitethorn Accounts were a remote accountancy company based in Hull, UK. They specialised in accountancy for start-ups and small businesses offering numerous services.

The brief I received from Whitethorn Accountants was to produce a new Brand Identity and UI / Website Design.
INVOLVEMENT
For the Brand Identity, I created a cloud shape to highlight the remote nature of their business. The accountancy side of the business was also displayed by showing a graph icon moving upwards. This was supported by a rounded typeface using a bold font weight and a bright blue colour palette.

With regards to the UI / Website Design,  I was supported by developer Andy Orvis. We had a kick-off meeting with the client to discuss the content and how we felt it was best to map out the website from a user journey point of view. We produced a site map and wireframes to define this part of the process.

After signing off on the approach from a user journey point of view, I then created a layout based on my wireframes. The homepage showcased a snippet of information about the company, listed services and the software they use. The supporting pages displayed the packages on offer, information about the company and contact information.

From the visual side of the project, I created something that differed to the usual style for an accountancy website. I used bright contrasing colours by using the blue from the brand identity for the body of the website with flashes of orange for CTA buttons and iconography.
Client testimonial
I trusted David and Andy to create and build a new identity, taking us out of our comfort zone and into a new era of websites for accountants. We wanted an approachable, responsive and clear website that was easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing. Along with helping us integrate with Zapier and other streamlining services, this truly helped us achieve this.

I often asked David to take us out of our comfort zone and into a new realm of design thinking. They were both a pleasure to work with and proof that when delegating, don't micro manage your delegates and allow them to do what they do best.

BACKGROUND
Ben Baxter PT is a personal trainer based in Manchester, UK. He specialises in gym programmes, health and fitness goals, nutritional advice and more.

The brief I received from Ben Baxter PT was to produce a new Wix Website Build.
INVOLVEMENT
For the Wix Website Build, I worked closely with the client to understand their requirements for the project. Initially starting with a kick-off meeting to discuss the goals for the website and to review the wireframes they produced.

After signing off on the approach from a user journey point of view, I then created a layout on Wix with the clients wireframes in mind. The homepage showcases a snippet of information about Ben, an image slider with client before and after photographs and promotional material to entice new clients. The supporting pages displayed are an about page with general information, testimonials with client videos, a members area that is password protected showcasing meal prep ideas and contact information with social links.

With regards to the visual side of the project, I came up with a black colour palette that was complimentary to the brand identities shade of blue and green. As well as utilising client photography and videos throughout.
